Learn the Art and the Science of Music Join our Joyful Excellence in Meridian, Idaho
True Song Studio provides beginning to advanced music lessons and classes for ages 1 - adult. Our programs emphasize creativity, theory understanding, and technical mastery, while recognizing the individuality of each student's own learning personality.
The studio is located near Settlers Park and The Village in Meridian. We work with students from Eagle, Boise, Caldwell, Nampa, Star, Kuna, Meridian, and surrounding areas in the Treasure Valley.
What kinds of recital/performing opportunities do you offer for students? True Song holds open mics, jams, recitals, and ensemble concerts several times throughout the year. Instead of performing being a long-dreaded experience, we believe it should be frequent and fun, so that sharing music feels only natural.
What would be better for me: Group classes or Private lessons? Group classes often work best for social learners who are motivated by the energy of classmates and a flow of set topics. Our group classes accommodate students of all ages with 0-3 years of prior experience. (The teen songwriting and recording class is the only group class designed for more advanced students.) Private lessons are for any level of student: beginning, intermediate, or advanced. Private lessons are typically for the most serious of students who have their own goals set, or for students who thrive with the personal focus that private lessons provide. Can my child benefit from your instruction at their young age (1, 2, 3, 4...?) Absolutely. Here, the potential of little ones is never underestimated. Musical study has a huge impact on babies' and toddlers' foundation for both musical and life skills. With parents on board at home, very small children are even able to play simple songs independently. This age is really the best for instilling good pitch and rhythm so that it is normal to them instead of what becomes a difficult skill to learn if introduced later.
Do you work with gifted students? Yes, True Song's director welcomes any student who wants to learn, having worked for years with all kinds of students, including special needs students, students competing at the national level, and professional-bound musicians.
Can I come do a "test-run" to see if True Song is a good fit? Contact us to set up your own complementary intro meeting. You'll get to see the space, talk with your instructor about what program may be best for you, and even try out some of the unique instruments around the studio if you'd like. We also hold free workshops and group intro sessions from time to time - see our events page on Facebook.
